Responsibilities:
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will work Part Time, Various Shifts and Weekends and will prepare food in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Head Cook and the Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor reviews menus prior to preparation of food and assures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will assist in food services production line, etc.
, to assure that meals are prepared on time and assume supervisory role in the absence of the Head Cook, Assistant Director, or Director.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor shall develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that food services can be properly maintained to meet the needs to the residents; and create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will prepare meals in accordance with planned meal for the supper meal that are palatable and appetizing in appearance and will serve food in accordance with established portion control.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes and special diet orders keeping in mind sanitary regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will assure that safety regulations, Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedure are always followed by all personnel.
Assist/direct daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services.
The Relief Cook/Supervisor will report all accidents or incidents as established by department policies.
Fill out and file reports as directed.
Likewise, report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Food Services Manager immediately.
Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged at all times.
Complete production tasks for next day's meal as instructed.
Assist in food preparation for special meals or occasions.
Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies including use of personal protective equipment.
Required to perform other duties as directed by supervisor or Administrator including assisting with residents as needed.
Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers.
This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes.
The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate.

Qualification/s:
Must have a minimum one (1) year food service experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
