Herkimer, NY Herkimer, NY Full-time Full-time $20 - $22 an hour $20 - $22 an hour JOB DESCRIPTION A member of the Maintenance team that isresponsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
Reviews the operation of plant equipment to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Follow safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Departments.
Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
Help to ensure plant cleanliness.
Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
COMPETENCIES Minimum of 1-year experience in facility type maintenance, knowledge of tools and hydraulics, Must be able to operate a forklift as well as high bay lifts, etc.
Knowledge of machinery maintenance.

Knowledge of PLC control a plus.

Knowledge of electrical circuitry a plus.
4.
Knowledge of burner repair a plus.
5.
Proficiency with basic office computer software, e.
g.
, word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

Knowledge of welding a plus.
7.
Maintain and complete work orders within the Mex system.
8.
Keep documentation of parts used within Mex system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY None.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates within a manufacturing facility.
The employee is required to spend the entire shift in the manufacturing facility and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 50 feet.
Must be able to work in changing environments.
