Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Support Technician I will work Per Diem, Days, Monday through Friday 7am-11am or M & F 7am-3:
30pm and Tue 7am-11am and performs blood specimen collection on adult and pediatric patients including venous, capillary, and blood culture samples.
The Laboratory Support Technician orders laboratory tests in the Laboratory Information System The Laboratory Support Technician processes, files requisitions, processes specimens for testing, prepares samples to be sent to reference laboratories for testing The Laboratory Support Technician processes test results that were referred to other reference laboratories.
The Laboratory Support Technician answers telephone as necessary.
The Laboratory Support Technician follows all hospital and laboratory policies and procedure.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers.

Education:
High School diploma or GED required Experience/
Qualifications:
One year of experience is preferred Licensure/Certificates:
A Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) from training in formal phlebotomy program which includes a minimum of sixty hours of didactic training and sixty hours of clinical experience, or one hundred observed phlebotomy draws preferred Skills:
