This position ensures food quality in all aspects, meets or exceeds the expectations of members and guests.
The Head Chef has a thorough understanding of all positions within the department and works with their team to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the management of both back and front of the house staff and operations under the supervision of the general manager.
Responsible for planning and execution/oversight of all menus and food events including seasonal menus and weekly specials.
Responsible for all major food preparation and cooking on the line, as well as banquet and catering events.
Ensure meals leaving the kitchen are consistent in presentation and quality.
Responsible for developing positive relationships with food suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective food supply.
Ensure safety and sanitary requirements are met by food and beverage staff.
Maintain refrigerator and freezer, storage areas and entire kitchen preparation area in regulation with Health Department standards.
Be fully aware of industry trends and offer suggestions for improvement of the member dining, banquet and catering operation.
Review menu pricing annually.
Responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair of food and beverage equipment.
Must be able to work a flexible workday and or weekends.
Undertake other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be required by supervisor.
Position
Qualifications:
Five years experience in culinary arts minimum.
Minimum three years supervisory experience required.
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Knowledge of all kitchen operations, food cost and inventory principles, and safety/sanitation procedures/training required.
